Orting School Board seeking applicants for vacancy

The News TribuneDecember 30, 2013

The Orting School Board is seeking applicants to fill a vacancy created by the resignation of David Egts, who was first appointed to the board, then ran again in November to fill a two-year unexpired term.

In November, he beat challenger Bonnie Pedersen Walkup by 13 votes. But he resigned in December due to a job change that will take him out of state, district officials said.

Now the board must fill the District 3 seat with an appointee, whose term will expire in November 2015. Applicants for the position must live within the district.

For more information on District 3 boundaries, contact Terry Van Zanten at 360-893-6500, ext. 221 or vanzantent@orting.wednet.edu.

To apply for the position, send a letter of interest and resume to Van Zanten, executive assistant to the superintendent, Orting School District, 121 Whitesell St. NE, Orting, WA 98360. The application deadline is 4 p.m. Jan. 7.
