Give snowshoeing a try at Mountaineers event

January 5, 2014

The Mountaineers are hosting their annual Winter Trails Day on Saturday, offering the public and members the chance to try the sport of snowshoeing.

Whether this would be your first time on snowshoes or if you are a seasoned pro, The Mountaineers partner with a number of different vendors to supply a variety of snowshoes to try out. Among manufacturers scheduled to be on site are Atlas, REI, Tubbs and MSR.

The event, running from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., will be held at The Mountaineers Snoqualmie campus. The campus is at Snoqualmie Pass and adjacent to The Summit at Snoqualmie ski area.

Members will lead short snowshoe tours up, down, and around the hillside. Afterward participants can enjoy hot cocoa/cider/coffee benefiting the group’s Youth Adventure Club.

While the event is free, registration is still required. You can sign up and get more information at mountaineers.org.
