Webb Simpson hits his tee shot on the 18th hole during the third round of the Tournament of Champions on Sunday in Kapalua, Hawaii. Simpson is in a three-way tie for the lead.

This week: Hyundai Tournament of Champions, through Monday, Plantation Course at Kapalua, Hawaii.

Third-round score: 1-under-par 72.

Position: Ryan Moore (9-under 210) is in a four-way tie for 12th, five strokes behind leaders Webb Simpson, Jordan Spieth and Dustin Johnson.

Recap: It got a little messy in the middle of the round for the Puyallup golfer Saturday with bogeys at No. 10 (three-putt from 40 feet), No. 11 (three-putt from 38 feet) and No. 13 (drive on par 4 landed in left rough, approach came up short of green) to fall to 1-over for the day. But he came right back with an eagle for the second consecutive day, this time at the par 5 15th hole. His second shot from 249 yards out landed 9 feet from the pin, and he sank the putt.

Tee time Monday: 1 p.m. (PST) with Ken Duke.
