Crews from six Tacoma Fire stations worked to put out a house fire Wednesday.
They arrived just after 10 p.m. at the reported fire in the 5900 block of South Verde Street, to find flames coming from the two-story, 1,600-square-foot home.
Firefighters put out the fire, which started in the bedroom of a mother-in-law apartment over the garage, and determined that no one was trapped in the house.
All occupants evacuated safely, and no one was hurt.
The cause of the fire was undetermined, Tacoma Fire said.
The estimated damage is $19,000.
