Recap: New Mexico St vs. Idaho

Las Cruces, NM (SportsNetwork.com) - KC Ross-Miller and Daniel Mullings each finished with 16 points as the New Mexico State Aggies downed the Idaho Vandals 78-54 in a Western Athletic Conference tilt at the Pan American Center.

For the Aggies (14-5, 3-0 WAC), DK Eldridge added 15 points and Tshilidzi Nephawe posted a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Mike Scott led the Vandals (7-11, 1-3) with 12 points.

The Aggies drained six of their first seven 3-pointers of the game and used a 16-0 run to go up 24-4 early en route to a 39-23 lead at the half, They shot 45.2 percent in the period, including 7-of-13 from 3-point range. Idaho made just 34.6 percent of its shots from the field in the opening frame.

After the break, New Mexico State cooled off somewhat, shooting 39.4 percent and 3-of-10 from 3-point distance. The Vandals continued to struggle from the field, shooting 34.6 percent and making just one of their six 3-point tries in the half. The Aggies pushed their lead to as many as 32 in the second half, as they coasted to victory.

The Aggies forced 17 turnovers and converted them into 30 points. They also outscored the Vandals in the paint, 30-21.
