Cedar City, UT (SportsNetwork.com) - Max Jacobsen scored 15 points, shooting a perfect 7-of-7 from the floor, as the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks completely dominated the Southern Utah Thunderbirds, 70-36, in a Big Sky Conference battle at the Centrum.

Kris Yanku accounted for 13 points and a team-best eight rebounds for the Lumberjacks (6-9, 3-1 Big Sky), while Aaseem Dixon pitched in with 11 points as the team won for the third time in four outings. Quinton Upshur and Ako Kaluna both added 10 points in the victory.

The Thunderbirds (1-12, 0-4) failed to have a single player reach double figures as Jaren Jeffery managed eight points and Jayson Cheesman seven.

The Northern Arizona defense was all over the Thunderbirds, holding the hosts to a mere 11 points in the first half, just one off the all-time record for points allowed by halftime by an NAU squad.

Ahead 35-11 at the break, NAU opened the second half on a 6-0 run and eventually led by a 54-22 score with just under 13 minutes remaining in the meeting.

The Lumberjacks finished the outing shooting 58.7 percent from the field and 41.7 percent behind the 3-point line, compared to just 24 percent from the floor and 18.8 percent on the perimeter for the hosts.

This is the second time in the last six games that SUU has been held below 40 points, bowing to San Diego State on Dec. 18 by a score of 76-39.

The Thunderbirds are still waiting for their first win over a Division I opponent this season, having opened the campaign with an 85-78 victory over Arizona Christian. The team's skid against DI foes has now reached 17 in a row dating back to last season.
