Bates Tech schedules public forums with KBTC director candidates

Bates Technical College has scheduled public forums for three finalists for the position of KBTC Public Television’s executive director and general manager/executive dean. KBTC, a PBS affiliate, is operated as a service of Bates.

The forums will be held on Jan. 24 in Studio A at the college’s Central/Mohler Campus, 2320 S. 19th St., in Tacoma. 

In addition to participating in a public forum, each finalist will meet with Bates President Ron Langrell, and tour the campus.

 The forum schedule:

 

 

Karen Olstad, 9-9:45 a.m.

Olstad currently is the chief operating officer of WOSU Public Media in Columbus, Ohio. She held previous administrative positions with Alaska Public Radio and in educational and public media at Washington State University.

 

Maurice “Moss” Bresnahan, 9:55-10:40 a.m.

Bresnahan worked most recently as president and chief executive officer of KCTS-TV in Seattle.  He has held other management positions at stations in South Carolina, Virginia and Iowa, and has also taught at colleges and universities.

 

Ed Ulman, 10:45-11:30 a.m.

Ulman is currently the director of development and interim executive director/general manager at KBTC. He previously worked as education and outreach manager of KNME-TV at the University of New Mexico.
