Huntington, WV (SportsNetwork.com) - James Woodard scored 17 points with seven rebounds as the Tulsa Golden Hurricane claimed a decisive 69-52 victory over the Marshall Thundering Herd in a Conference USA tilt at the Cam Henderson Center.
Rashad Ray logged 13 points for the Golden Hurricane (8-10, 3-1 C-USA), as they have won four of their last five games. Brandon Swannegan chipped in 10 points.
Chris Thomas had 14 points, while Kareem Canty tallied 12 points and nine assists for Marshall (6-13, 0-4), which lost its fourth consecutive game. TyQuane Goard brought down eight rebounds and blocked three shots.
Marshall shot 34.6 percent from the floor in the first half as they led 25-20 at the break. Tulsa struggled by only making 25 percent of its field goal attempts, including 2-of-6 from 3-point range.
The Golden Hurricane came out in the second period strong, draining 61.5 percent of their shots from the field, including 5-of-7 from beyond the arc. Tulsa went on a 25-7 run starting at 9:43 to end Marshall's chances at a win.
Tulsa's bench outscored the reserves for Marshall 32-13.
