Recap: San Francisco vs. San Diego

San Francisco, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Avry Holmes nailed a jumper with 12 seconds remaining to lift the San Francisco Dons to a 64-62 victory over the San Diego Toreros in a West Coast Conference conflict at War Memorial Gymnasium.

Holmes finished with 15 points and Kruize Pinkins posted a double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds for San Francisco (12-8, 5-3 WCC), which ended a two- game slide. Cole Dickerson added 10 points.

Johnny Dee scored 16 points to lead San Diego (11-9, 2-5), which has lost four of the last five. Christopher Anderson tallied 15 points and Duda Sanadze chipped in 11.

The teams were tied 36-36 at halftime. The Dons shot 50 percent from the floor, while the Toreros hit 42.9 percent, but kept it close by sinking 7- of-12 from beyond the arc.

Despite shooting 57.1 percent from the floor in the second half, the Dons were tied 62-62 with the Toreros after Anderson nailed a jumper and Thomas Jacobs split a pair of free throws in a 10-second span in the final minute. However, Holmes saved the game for San Francisco with his last-second shot.

San Francisco was helped to victory by a 30-27 edge on the glass.
