“To Kill a Mockingbird” at Tacoma Little Theatre

A dramatization of the award-winning novel by Harper Lee that looks at poverty, prejudice, love and hate in 1935 through the eyes of young Scout Finch, as her lawyer father defends a black man against injustice. Britten opera at PLU

It’s not often you get to see Benjamin Britten’s opera “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” fully-produced, but the opera department at Pacific Lutheran University offer you the chance this weekend in honor of the English composer’s centenary, and presented in the newly-built $20 million Karen Hille Phillips Center. 8 p.m. Jan. 23-25, 3 p.m. Jan. 26. $15 general/$10 seniors, PLU alumni/$5 PLU community, students, under-18. Centerstage does “The Nerd”

Larry Shue’s “The Nerd” – opening Friday in Federal Way – tells the comedic tale of a Vietnam vet who’s visited by the unknown man who saved his life, who turns out to be a hilariously inept nerd. “Shout!” at Tacoma Musical Playhouse

You’ll be singing along with the ‘60s at “Shout! The Mod Musical,” on now at Tacoma Musical Playhouse.
