Morning update: Session Day 12

Legislation concerning paid vacation leave will have a public hearing in the House Labor and Workforce Development Committee. House Bill 2238, proposed by Rep. Gael Tarleton, D-Seattle, would require paid vacation leave for employees who work 20 or more hours per week. The hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.

A proposal by Rep. David Sawyer, D-Lakewood, would allow the Department of Transportation to sell unused lands to federally recognized tribes. House Bill 1286 will be heard in the House Community Development, Housing and Tribal Affairs Committee at 1:30 p.m.

A work session will examine the declining bee populations in Washington. The House Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee will hear testimony about bees’ plight at 1:30 p.m.
