FISHING: Reel maintenance subject of presentation

jeff.mayor@thenewstribune.comJanuary 26, 2014

George Grinstine of George’s Rod & Reel Repair will talk about the proper care and maintenance for fishing reels at the Feb. 6 meeting of the Puget Sound Anglers South Sound chapter.

The presentation will contain tips for everyone who has had a reel suddenly freeze up or has a reel that sounds as if it’s grinding a pound of coffee while reeling that big fish in.

If that is the case, chances are your reel could use a little attention during the off season. Fishermen spend a lot of money on their gear, and can make it last with proper care, Grinstine said.

The general meeting will begin at 7 p.m. with Grinstine’s presentation at 8 at 6729 Pacific Ave. SE, Lacey.
