The man hit and killed by a car Saturday night in Puyallup was 70-year-old Glenn Salisbury, the Pierce County Medical Examiner's Office said Sunday.

The Puyallup man was hit by a car driven by an 18-year-old woman about 6:20 p.m. in the 600 block of 39th Avenue Southwest, Puyallup Police Chief Bryan Jeter said.

Salisbury was trying to cross the four-lane road outside of a crosswalk when he was hit, Jeter said.

Police were still investigating the crash Sunday.

The chief said preliminary investigation did not suggest the driver was under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the crash.
