Thurston Wolfe 2012 PGV

January 26, 2014

Longtime Washington winemaker and viticulturist Wade Wolfe has been crafting this fun and delicious white blend for years. He has found terrific balance using Pinot Gris and Viognier (with a touch of Orange Muscat), and this example shines. It is loaded with fruit aromas and flavors, including apricot, peach and apple, all backed with bright, beautiful acidity to give it perfect balance for fish tacos. This earned a unanimous Double Platinum award from Wine Press Northwest magazine. (12.5 percent alcohol)

Price: $16

Cases produced: 2,200

Food pairings: This bright white wine will match up perfectly with roasted chicken, crab cakes or halibut topped with a mango salsa.
