TCC program to help those in need with rent

A few months ago, I wrote a column about a Tacoma Community College program that helped those students in need with paying their rent.

TCC has partnered with the Tacoma Housing Authority and come up with $150,000 this year to help full time students with vouchers that fund  housing.

Applications for the College Housing Assistance Program will be available Jan. 31, and there are a couple of briefings where you can lean more about the program on Feb. 4.

You can pick up applications at the campus Advising Center, Building 7. There's a fine website that explains the program and the process.

It's a program designed to make housing issues less a problem for students doing their best to stay in school. If you're among that group, take a look - and good luck.
