San Francisco, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Cole Dickerson scored 21 points and Kruize Pinkins poured in 20, as the San Francisco Dons defeated the Portland Pilots, 84-71, in West Coast Conference action at War Memorial Gymnasium.
Dickerson and Pinkins combined to shoot 14-of-20 from the field for USF (14-8, 7-3), which has won three straight. Avry Holmes added 15 points and Mark Tollefsen netted 12.
For Portland (12-10, 4-6), Alec Wintering and Bryce Pressley both poured in 15 points, with Wintering dishing out five assists as well. Kevin Bailey and Riley Barker put up 10 points apiece for the visitors.
Portland shot an impressive 50 percent from the field in the first half, but USF was even better at 66.7 percent, including 5-of-7 from beyond the arc. The Dons took a comfortable 47-37 lead into intermission.
The Pilots brought their deficit to just five midway through the second half but would get no closer. USF used a 7-0 run later in the frame to pull away.
USF shot 23-of-33 from the free-throw line on the evening, while Portland was just 9-of-13.
