Winston-Salem, NC (SportsNetwork.com) - Daniel Miller notched a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds, helping the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets top the Wake Forest Demon Deacons, 79-70, in Atlantic Coast Conference action at Lawrence Joel Coliseum.
Marcus Georges-Hunt tallied a team-high 23 points for the Yellow Jackets (12-10, 3-6 ACC), who bounced back from consecutive losses. Chris Bolden and Kammeon Holsey added 12 and 10 points, respectively.
Travis McKie knocked down a game-high 26 points, including 11-of-11 at the free-throw line for the Demon Deacons (14-8, 4-5), who have lost back-to-back games. Codi Miller-McIntyre supplied 10 points.
The Yellow Jackets had a strong showing in the first half, shooting 48.4 percent from the field, including 6-of-11 from the perimeter. At the other end, the Demon Deacons tried to keep pace at 46.4 percent, but trailed 41-34 at halftime.
Wake Forest struggled in the second half, dipping to 33.3 percent from the floor. Meanwhile, the Jackets kept up the pressure, shooting 50 percent and leading by as many as 13 points early in the period.
The Demon Deacons shot a miserable 3-of-15 from beyond the arc and were outrebounded 33-24 in the defeat.
