Man arrested after SWAT team responds to Bonney Lake home

Staff writerFebruary 5, 2014

A SWAT team was called to a Bonney Lake home Wednesday night, after police say a man barricaded himself inside.

Police responded to a report of domestic violence between a husband and wife about 5:15 p.m. at the home in the 19300 block of 75th Street East in Bonney Lake, police spokesman Todd Green said.

Officers arrived to find the woman and two children had been removed from the home by the man, who had barricaded himself in the house, Green said.

The suspect made no threats to officers, but police did learn there were guns in the home, Green said.

He would not communicate with officers, but about 20 minutes after a SWAT team arrived, he came outside and was arrested for investigation of second-degree assault and threats, Green said.

The woman was treated for injuries at the scene, he said.
