Comment on Tacoma's city charter Monday

Staff writerFebruary 6, 2014

Tacoma’s charter review committee will hold a public hearing Monday, and residents are invited to recommend changes to the city's charter review committee.

The meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. Monday in the first-floor council chambers at the Tacoma Municipal Building, 747 Market St. Each commenter will have three minutes to provide feedback.

A second comment period will be held 5:30 p.m. March 31.

Charter review happens once a decade. The 15-member committee will meet twice per week through May, when it will offer recommended resolutions to the City Council for voters to consider. The council can accept or reject the proposals, or add other resolutions to the November ballot.

For more information about the committee, the charter review process or to read the city charter, visit the city of Tacoma’s website.
