Sacramento, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Mikh McKinney scored 26 points as the Sacramento State Hornets routed the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks, 87-70, in a Big Sky Conference clash at the Nest.
Zach Mills and Dreon Barlett each totaled 15 points for Sacramento State (9-11, 5-6 Big Sky), which has won three straight. Dylan Garrity dished out 10 assists.
Aaseem Dixon dropped in 14 points for Northern Arizona (9-13, 6-5), which has lost four of its last five. Gaellan Bewernick added 13 points and Quinton Upshur tacked on 12.
At the end of the first half the Hornets led 41-34. They connected on 68.4 percent of their field goal tries in the period, while Northern Arizona turned in a 50 percent performance.
After the break Sacramento State hit on 51.9 percent from the floor, while also forcing 12 turnovers to coast to the finish.
Sacramento State had a 32-14 scoring edge off of turnovers. Northern Arizona lost despite a 38-24 advantage on points in the paint.
