Recap: LSU vs. Auburn

Baton Rouge, LA (SportsNetwork.com) - Johnny O'Bryant III registered 19 points and 10 rebounds to lead the LSU Tigers past the Auburn Tigers, 87-80, in an SEC bout at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.

Jordan Mickey also tallied a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds for LSU (15-7, 6-4 SEC), which has won three of four. Andre Stringer came off the bench to log 18 points and seven assists, Anthony Hickey netted 17 on 5-of-7 from 3-point range and Jarell Martin added 11 points and eight boards.

For Auburn (11-10, 3-7), which had won three straight coming into this matchup, Chris Denson paced all scorers with 29 points on 11-of-23 shooting from the field. KT Harrell put up 19 points and Tahj Shamsid-Deen had 16 points.

LSU shot 48.3 percent from the field in the first half, slight better than Auburn's 46.9 percent showing, but Denson's layup with 28 seconds to play in the stanza gave Auburn a 33-32 lead at the break.

LSU used a 10-0 run early in the second half to take control of the game, and its lead swelled to as many as 14 down the stretch.

Auburn was outscored at the free-throw line, 27-16, and from 3-point range, 24-18.
