Divers will share efforts to aid Puget Sound

February 9, 2014

Janna Nichols and Laura James will be the speakers Feb. 19 in the next installment of the South Sound Estuary Association’s Discovery Speaker Series.

Nichols is the outreach coordinator for the Reef Environmental Education Foundation’s Pacific office in Vancouver, Wash. James runs Beneath the Looking Glass.

Both divers, the women will share their perspectives on engaging people in water-quality issues. They will use their experience, such as Nichols working with divers and some of the film work James does in Puget Sound, to show how citizens can make a difference.

The free event will take place from 7-8:30 p.m., with the doors opening at 6:30 p.m. It will be held at LOTT’s WET Science Center, 500 Adams St. NE, Olympia.
