Dusted Valley Vintners 2011 Wallywood

Appellation: Columbia Valley

From Walla Walla to Woodinville, the boys at Dusted Valley Vintners give you Wallywood, their red Rhône assemblage of Syrah (50 percent), Mourvèdre (40 percent) and Petite Sirah using StoneTree Vineyard on the Wahluke Slope and the young Red Heaven Vineyard on Red Mountain. It's deep, dark, purple and juicy with plums, blackberries, pomegranate, dark chocolate and black licorice from first whiff to last sip. Ask your favorite wine merchant for this because this edition already has been slurped up from the winery's tasting rooms on both sides of the state. Rated "Outstanding" by Great Northwest Wine. (14.9 percent alcohol)

Price: $42

Cases produced: 120

Food pairing: Grilled or braised meats will pair perfectly with this big red wine. Also consider lasagna or a really great pizza.
