Gay and Lesbian Wedding Expo slated for Lakewood

Staff writerFebruary 10, 2014

Last year, more than 300 people attended the Rainbow Wedding Network’s Gay and Lesbian Wedding Expo.

This year, event organizers hopes to increase that number.

“We have produced over a hundred gay and lesbian events, in 25 states,,” said Cindy Sproul, co-founder of the network.

The event, scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 23, will feature travel and wedding consultants, and “everything from DJs to photographers,” she said.

The company’s “'Same Love, Same Rights” expo ”is a timely resource for same-sex couples who were engaged over the holidays and Valentine's Day, as well as singles, advocates and allies who support equal rights in marriage.”

The free event will be held at the McGavick Conference Center at Clover Park Technical College, 4500 Steilacoom Blvd S.W. in Lakewood, from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.
