Got a week in March to spare, to create the Next Big Thing in tech? Consider applying for StartupBus, which comes to the Seattle-Tacoma area for the first time this year.

Founded in 2010, StartupBus is an entrepreneurial competition that begins with a three-day bus ride where teams of 3-4 people work to conceive, build and launch a company, complete with business plan and prototype, to present to a panel of judges at Rackspace, an San Antonio-based company.

The trip happens to coincide with the beginning of South by Southwest, the international creative conference held in Austin every year.

This year's competition has nine buses, leaving from cities in three countries. Past winners have gone on to work on projects including the link-sharing service, Branch, that was recently purchased by Facebook.

Learn more about the local bus here. It could be a bit pricey if you're a student, so learn more about the application process here.
