An Auburn man accused of trying to have sex with a 14-year-old girl pleaded not guilty to communication with a minor for immoral purposes.

Kunkuk Ryu, 33, was ordered jailed in lieu of $80,000 bail. He was arrested Monday at a Puyallup restaurant where he believed he was meeting the girl. Instead, detectives were waiting.

The two apparently began chatting last month via social media, where Ryu allegedly told the girl he wanted to do “dirty things” to her,” charging papers show.

Police took over the girl’s account to communicate with Ryu and made a date at a Puyallup restaurant. He initially told police he befriended the girl because she was having problems but admitted to talking to her about porn and possibly kissing.

“He said it made him ‘feel excited’ to talk to a 14-year-old about sex but claimed he had no intention of doing it,” according to court documents.
