Recap: Indiana vs. Penn State

Bloomington, IN (SportsNetwork.com) - Tim Frazier made a layup with six seconds to play, and Yogi Ferrell missed a jumper at the buzzer as the Penn State Nittany Lions escaped the Indiana Hoosiers, 66-65, in a Big Ten Conference clash at Assembly Hall.

Frazier netted 14 points to pace Penn State (13-12, 4-8 Big Ten), adding six assists and four steals to his resume. Donovon Jack and Brandon Taylor each contributed 10 points in the win. The Nittany Lions snapped a two-game losing skid with the victory.

Ferrell led all scorers in the game with 16 points for the Hoosiers (14-10, 4-7), contributing a team-high six assists. Will Sheehey netted 12 points and Stanford Robinson chipped in 11, and Noah Vonleh grabbed 12 rebounds. Indiana has lost two in a row and three of its last four games.

It was Indiana that came out strong in the first half, connecting on 59.1 percent of its field goal tries in the period, including 7-of-8 from the free- throw line. The Hoosiers took a 36-30 lead at the intermission. Penn State hit 39.3 percent of its shots from the floor in the frame.

The Nittany Lions improved to 42.3 percent shooting in the second half, hitting 4-of-10 from 3-point range and connecting on 10-of-12 from the free- throw line. Indiana dropped its percentage to 42.1 percent, allowing Penn State to come back for the win.

The Nittany Lions held the edge in points off turnovers, 22-16, and in bench points, 16-10. Indiana outrebounded Penn State, 30-24.
