Tulsa, OK (SportsNetwork.com) - James Woodward tallied 21 points and seven rebounds to lift the Tulsa Golden Hurricane to a 76-58 win over the East Carolina Pirates in a Conference USA matchup at the Reynolds Center.
Stevie Repichowski provided Tulsa (12-12, 7-3 C-USA) a spark off the bench with 13 points while Shaquille Harrison contributed 11 points and four assists. Brandon Swannegan added 10 points as the Golden Hurricane picked up their second straight decision.
For the Pirates (13-12, 2-8), Paris Roberts-Campbell scored 17 points. Akeem Richmond finished with 14 points and six boards while Caleb White chipped in 10 points.
The Golden Hurricane knocked down 50 percent of their field goal attempts in the opening 20 minutes of the contest en route to a 33-29 halftime lead. ECU led by eight points with 8:46 remaining before the intermission, but it fell behind after it was limited to 42.3 percent efficiency from the floor in the first half.
The Pirates cooled off to sink a mere 35.7 percent of their shots from the field in the second stanza. Tulsa converted 12-of-13 attempts at the charity stripe to extend its advantage after the break.
The Golden Hurricane enjoyed a 41-26 edge in the rebounding battle and assisted 16 of their 28 makes from the floor. Tulsa also scored 21 points off of ECU's 12 turnovers.
