KBTC gains permanent director

Ed Ulman has been named executive director and general manager of KBTC, the public television station operated by Bates Technical College in Tacoma. He had recently filled the position on an interim basis.

Ulman supervises a staff of 17 and is responsible for programming, fundraising efforts and strategic planning functions at KBTC, as well as at the college’s Central/Mohler campus on South 19th Street, and at KCKA, a satellite station. Ulman will also serve as dean of the instructional programs housed at the central Tacoma campus.

Prior to his work in Tacoma, Ulman was the education and outreach manager of KNME-TV at the University of New Mexico.
