Tacoma News TribuneFebruary 14, 2014

Wine and chocolate are the themes of a South Sound Wine Trail event running Feb. 28 through March 2.

The “Wine & Chocolate Passport” has participants visiting the six wineries on the Wine Trail at times of their own choosing over three days. The trail stretches from Lacey to Tenino to Shelton. The wineries include Madsen Family Cellars, Medicine Creek Winery, Northwest Mountain Winey, Scatter Creek Winery, Stottle Winery and Walter Dacon.  Each winery will feature hand crafted wines and chocolate treats.

The wines will include red and white varieties, dessert wines, fruit wines and mead. Each winery will offer five wines to taste. Vintners will be present.

Tickets can be purchased online in advance or at any of the participating wineries. Advanced tickets are $30 at brownpapertickets.com or southsoundwinetrail.com. Tickets are $40 at the door. The passport includes wine tasting and chocolate at each location as well as $3 off on total wine purchase at each winery.
