Recap: Long Beach State vs. Cal Poly

Long Beach, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Tyler Lamb scored 19 points and Mike Caffey added 18 as the Long Beach State 49ers defeated the Cal Poly Mustangs, 74-65, in a Big West Conference clash at Walter Pyramid.

Dan Jennings tacked on 12 points and nine rebounds for Long Beach State (11-14, 7-4 Big West) and Travis Hammonds added 10 points.

Kyle Odister netted 11 points as the only double figure scorer for Cal Poly (9-15, 5-6), which has lost five of the last six.

Long Beach State shot 42.9 percent from the floor during the first half and led, 28-26, at halftime. Cal Poly had only nine field goals in the first frame.

The 49ers easily put the game away in the second half, when they hit on 66.7 percent from the floor. Cal Poly couldn't keep up, connecting on 40 percent from the floor.

Long Beach State owned a 40-24 scoring edge in the paint.
