Recap: Boston College vs. Notre Dame

Chestnut Hill, MA (SportsNetwork.com) - Pat Connaughton finished with 17 points as the Notre Dame Fighting Irish earned a 73-69 victory over the Boston College Eagles in an Atlantic Coast Conference matchup at Conte Forum.

Connaughton also tied for a team-high of five rebounds and four assists with Eric Atkins, who tacked on 16 points for Notre Dame (14-12, 5-8 ACC). Tom Knight and Zach Auguste each tallied 10 points.

Olivier Hanlan scored a game-high 18 points for Boston College (6-19, 2-10), which has lost five straight. Joe Rahon chipped in 13 points and Ryan Anderson logged a double-double of 11 points and 11 rebounds.

At halftime the Fighting Irish led, 38-38. They shot at a 55.6 percent clip in the first frame, while Boston College was just behind, netting 48.1 percent, including 6-of-9 from 3-point range.

Notre Dame shot an efficient 46.2 percent from the field in the final 20 minutes, during which the Eagles cooled to 38.5 percent shooting to let the game slip away.

Notre Dame had a 14-6 scoring advantage off of turnovers.
