Man suspected of driving stolen vehicle shot in Frederickson

Staff writerFebruary 16, 2014

A man was in critical condition Sunday night after he was shot in Frederickson while driving a vehicle detectives believed had been stolen, Pierce County Sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer said.

The shooting happened about 6:30 p.m. in a parking lot near Canyon Road East and 176th Street East, when the occupants of the stolen vehicle and a pickup truck got into an altercation, Troyer said.

Investigators believed two other people were in the stolen vehicle, but took off after the shooting, as did the truck, he said.

Detectives did not immediately have further details about the altercation and were working late Sunday to find the involved parties, Troyer said.
