February 17, 2014

Two Pierce County schools, Franklin Pierce High School and Columbia Crest Elementary School in Ashford, have been chosen along with five others statewide as Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) mentors to other schools in the state.

Known as Lighthouse schools, the seven were each awarded $18,000 grants that will promote and develop STEM education, including technical assistance and advice for other schools interested in creating their own STEM programs.
