Teen charged in fatal Auburn crash

An 18-year-old international student from China was charged Thursday in connection to a fatal crash in Auburn Sunday.

Green River Community College student Qiang Liu is charged with vehicular homicide, vehicular assault and reckless endangerment.

Prosecutors say he was driving over highways speeds in a 35 mph-zone, when he hit a light pole in the 11300 block of Southeast 320th Street.

Zhenyu Yang, 17, died in the crash.

Another 17-year-old is at Harborview Medical Center in critical condition. Three other passengers were not seriously injured.

Liu’s bail is set at $2 million, and his arraignment will be March 6.
