Avalanche risk 'Considerable' in Cascades, Olympics

The risk of avalanche is “considerable” Saturday in the Cascades and Olympics according to the Northwest Avalanche Center website, nwac.us.

The “considerable” threat level is the organization’s third highest. Friday the risk of avalanche reached the NWAC’s second highest level, “high,” on the east slopes of the Cascades.


Ski areas continue to warn visitors to understand and be prepared for deep snow risk. A Seattle man died after falling into a tree well at Crystal Mountain on Wednesday.
