Recap: Old Dominion vs. Louisiana Tech

Norfolk, VA (SportsNetwork.com) - Alex Hamilton finished with 20 points and six rebounds as the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs beat the Old Dominion Monarchs, 71-66, in a Conference USA contest at the Constant Convocation Center.

Chris Anderson scored 19 points and Kenyon McNeail added 14 for the Bulldogs (22-6, 10-3 C-USA), who have won five of their last six games. Jaron Johnson had 10 points while Kenneth Smith chipped in eight assists.

Aaron Bacote tallied 25 points and five assists, while Dimitri Batten logged 17 for the Monarchs (13-15, 7-6), who have lost two of their last three tilts. Ambrose Mosley netted 11 points, as Richard Ross cleared nine boards.

ODU connected on 41.7 percent of its shots from the floor in the first half, and went into the break tied at 30. Louisiana Tech made just 25 percent of its field goal attempts, but went 12-of-13 from the free-throw line.

The Bulldogs turned it around and shot 50 percent on field goal tries in the second period. With 5:18 left and up 52-51, Louisiana Tech went on a 9-2 run to create some breathing room and hold on for the win.

Louisiana Tech shot 82.4 percent from the charity stripe, while taking 15 more foul shots than ODU. The Bulldogs had the edge in points off turnovers, 17-7.
