Pierce County homicide suspect reportedly arrested in Idaho

Staff writerFebruary 23, 2014

Police in Post Falls, Idaho, arrested a Pierce County homicide suspect Saturday, KREM.com reported.

The Spokane TV station said detectives found Christopher Olsen in a home near East White Sands Lane and North Revette Street, where U.S. Marshals served a warrant about 1 p.m.

Pierce County Sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer said the warrant was in connection to the fatal shooting of 24-year-old Robert Ward Feb. 16 near Frederickson. Nathan Stevenson, 25, is charged with first-degree murder and second-degree murder for allegedly setting up a fake drug deal that led to the shooting. Prosecutors said Ward was lured to Canyon Road East and 176th Street by people in retaliation for a car they accused him of stealing.

Police told KREM.com that officials were working to have Olsen extradited to Washington.

Troyer said another person was arrested Friday in connection to Ward’s death.
