Film shares effects of standardized testing

Parents and Friends for Tacoma Public Schools is hosting a screening of the film “Standardized Lies, Money & Civil Rights: How Testing is Ruining Public Education,” highlighting the effects of standardized testing in public education.

It will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Tahoma Room, in Commencement Hall on the University of Puget Sound campus in Tacoma.

There will be a panel discussion following the film with state Rep. Jake Fey, D-Tacoma, plus author and professor Wayne Au. The suggested donation is $5.
