A showdown brewing for Tacoma Public Utilities?

Charter review committee could recommend folding TPU into city government

Staff writerFebruary 25, 2014

If last night's charter review committee meeting was any indication, future meetings on whether to keep TPU's governance in its current form or fold it into the ranks of the city will be very interesting.

The first meeting was an agenda-setting group that talked about a variety of topics, including how to set up a subcommittee on whether to axe the city manager's position and move to a strong-mayor form of government. The TPU meeting followed.

Here's a rundown based on my tweets from the meeting.
