Morning update: Session Day 50

Staff reportsMarch 3, 2014

House Democrats are poised to pass their version of the state budget on the House floor, along with a bipartisan school-construction plan funded by borrowing against lottery revenue.

In the Senate, it's the last day for the Ways and Means Committee to wrap up its work on nonbudget bills. Senators will be considering whether to advance regulations on medical marijuana that would consolidate it into the new state-licensed system of recreational marijuana.

Minority Senate Democrats plan to talk Monday about a proposal to require insurance plans to cover abortion, which passed the House but failed by not advancing in the Senate.
