Man shot, injured at Auburn motel

Staff writerMarch 4, 2014

A 28-year-old Auburn man who was shot in the stomach early Tuesday morning is listed in stable condition, police said.

Detectives are trying to determine what prompted the shooting, which took place about 12:40 a.m. at a motel in the 1500 block of D Street.

Cmmd. Mike Hirman said the victim went to the motel to meet a man and woman inside one of the rooms. A fight immediately broke out and the victim was shot. He then either jumped or was thrown out of the motel room window, Hirman said.

The man went to the lobby and called 911. He was taken to Harborview Medical Center.

No one has been arrested.

Police have not yet determined why the man went to the motel.
