Guns, drugs, stolen cars seized during raid at rural Pierce County compound

Staff writerMarch 4, 2014

Five people were arrested Tuesday after law enforcement raided a rural East Pierce County property and found drugs, guns and stolen vehicles.

It was not immediately clear how many stolen cars were seized. At least four people related to the case were booked into the Pierce County Jail.

The investigation started as a drug case, and a Tacoma police SWAT team helped serve warrants because of the size of the compound and the number of felons believed on the property, sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer said.

“We’re still in the process of logging the items,” he said.

The raid took place about 5:30 a.m. at 31708 72nd Ave. E., between Graham and Eatonville.

Detectives said they found four pounds of suspected methamphetamine, other types of drugs, $30,000 in cash and several guns.
