Avalanche warning issued for Cascades, Olympics

An avalanche warning is in effect Wednesday throughout the Washington Cascades and the Olympics according to the Northwest Avalanche Center.

The NWAC rates the risk as “high,” its second highest risk level.


Mount Rainier National Park announced via Twitter this morning that “the road to Paradise may not open today dye to avalanche warning.” The road has been closed since Monday, when the first of two two-year construction projects was to begin.
