The Seattle Mariners marked the start of minor league workouts Wednesday by announcing 13 cuts from their big league camp roster, including three players from their 40-man roster.

Left-hander Danny Hultzen was optioned to Triple-A Tacoma, where he will continue his recovery from shoulder surgery. The move means he will not accrue major league service time while on the disabled list.

Left-hander Anthony Fernandez and outfielder Julio Morban were optioned to Double-A Jackson.

The club also reassigned 10 nonroster invites to minor league camp, including five right-handed pitchers: Jonathan Arias, Andrew Carraway, Stephen Kohlscheen, Mark Rogers and Chance Ruffin.
