The city of Fife is seeking applicants to fill an upcoming vacancy on the City Council.

Fife Mayor Glenn Hull, who was appointed at the beginning of the year, is moving with his family to Georgia this month and the city is accepting applications for those interested in serving in his Postion 3 council seat.

The appointee will serve until the November 2015 general election results are certified, according to a news release from the city.

Interested applicants must have lived within the Fife city limits for a minimum of one year at the time of assuming office, be a registered voter, and be at least 18 years old.  These are the same minimum requirements that apply per State law to elected Councilmembers, the release says.

Applications are due by 5 p.m. on April 1. For more information and to obtain an application visit Fife's website or contact Brodie Rota at 253-896-8602 or
