A man charged in a fatal stabbing outside a Fox Island grocery store pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder Friday.
Pierce County Commissioner Meagan Foley ordered Nevada Lee Pettes, 32, jailed in lieu of $1 million bail.
Prosecutors allege Pettes and Jason Madron, 30, robbed Jacob Glenn of marijuana and money either late Nov. 20 or early Nov. 21 in the parking lot of the Fox Island Grocery and Deli.
A struggle broke out between the three men in a car, and Madron allegedly stabbed Glenn, 23, of Gig Harbor. Glenn died of a single wound to the chest.
His body was discovered the morning of Nov. 21 by a customer who stopped at the store to buy gas.
Madron has pleaded not guilty to the charge and remains in jail.
Pettes was arrested Feb. 13 in Flint, Mich., after someone told law enforcement where he could be found. He was booked into the Pierce County Jail on Friday.stacia.glenn@ thenewstribune.com
