Help sought finding robber of 18 stores

Authorities are asking the public to help find a man they believe has robbed 18 Pierce County convenience stores since the end of December.

The robberies happened between about 7 p.m. and 11:45 p.m. at gas stations and convenience stores in Tacoma and Pierce County.

The robber shows a handgun, demands cash and threatens to shoot the clerk, then walks out of the store with the cash, according to Tacoma-Pierce County Crime Stoppers.

He's described as black, in his 30s, about 6 feet, with a heavy build. He wore a black hooded sweatshirt, black gloves, black shoes, black pants or dark blue jeans and a black mask.

Anyone with information is asked to call 800-222-8477. Tips are anonymous and can result in a reward. Surveillance video is available on the Crime Stoppers website.

*6:45 p.m. Dec. 29, Midland Food Center, 1701 99th St. E., Tacoma.

*8:55 p.m. Jan. 18, Subway, 7317 40th St. W., University Place.

*9:30 p.m. Jan. 18, Nite N Day Deli, 5516 E. Portland Ave., Tacoma.

*10:03 p.m. Jan. 22, K&S Food Mart, 8533 South Tacoma Way, Lakewood.

*10:57 p.m. Jan. 24, J&P Deli Mart, 5601 E. Portland Ave., Tacoma.

*11:44 p.m. Jan. 28, Union 76, 8424 Pacific Ave., Tacoma.

*10:55 p.m. Jan. 30, Shell Gas, 3004 112th St. E., Tacoma.
