New Port Angeles kayak film festival could become annual event

Tacoma News TribuneMarch 14, 2014

Port Angeles will host a two-day film festival in April in hopes of luring kayakers of all types from around the Northwest.

The April 12-13 Port Angeles Kayak and Film Festival will include kayaking classes for kayak and standup paddleboarders of all skill levels.

Several short films will be screened April 12. Organizers hope this will become an annual event.

“We are so pleased to bring an event of this caliber to Port Angeles,” said Tammi Hinkle, owner of Adventures Through Kayaking, in a prepared statement. “It’s one-of-a-kind. No other event in the country highlights and promotes all classes of paddling. We hope to introduce a lot of new paddlers to the sport, to help seasoned paddlers learn new skills, to entertain, and to come back and do it all again next year!”
