Ninth Great Gravel Pack-In set for Capitol State Forest

The ninth Great Gravel Pack-In volunteer work party at Capital Forest is scheduled for March 29, the Washington Department of Natural Resources announced this week.

Volunteers are invited to help spread gravel and help repair trails in the forest.

The event is organized by the DNR, Tacoma Trail Cruisers, Backcountry Horsemen of Washington and the Washington ATV Association.

The event starts with a 9 a.m. safety meeting at the Tacoma Trail Cruisers’ property, 8937 Sherman Valley Road SW, Olympia.

 All stock animals need to be pre-approved by contacting Ed Haefliger at 360-427-4297 or edsueh@msn.com  for more information. Dogs aren’t allowed for the safety of the pack animals.

Lunch will be provided.
